The workshop at Chelsea College of Arts last week focused on questioning “How Are UAL Doing On The Race/Diversity Front?” Facilitated by Tanicia Payne, UAL GEMS co-chair (Black staff network), the workshop was a safe space for students and non-students attending to voice their opinions and concerns without feeling intimidated or judged.

When Russian designer Ekaterina Kudryashova offered to donate 3 dresses towards the fundraiser, we thought it’d be a great opportunity to have them auctioned during the duration of Diversity Matters Exhibit (2nd – 10th June)! When MA Drawing student from Wimbledon College of Arts, Jacqui Ennis Cole, reached out asking for support towards her fundraiser for a trip to Tanzania where she’ll facilitate art workshops to support the work of Standing Voice organisation – accepting her request was the only option.
The first Diversity Matters Awareness workshop was introduced at University of the Arts London (UAL); Central Saint Martins (CSM) on the 12th May, following on from the success of DMAW16 last month.
