This dynamic and educational presentation by Tony Walker explored African-British Civil Rights Heroes 1596-2006, during SUARTS Black History Festival (Oct – Dec 2015)
The bias in schools gives the impression that racism and civil rights was an American issue and totally ignores the struggles Black British people endured. This presentation by Black History Walks provided the names and achievements of those Black people born or resident in the UK that fought against British racism over the last 400 years. Includes: Thomas Peters, Ottobah Cuguano, Robert Wedderburn, Laurie Pilpott, Baron Baker, Joe Unte, Olaudah Equiano, Phyllis Wheatley, Learie Constantine, and many more! (Part 2 to be confirmed!)
Black history is more than just a month!
